Light/Lines

This special edition of House of LAV unites three media into one total work:

– three Videos – united here in a single edit
– a specially composed and designed Music from Ambify Production / Christian Skoglund
– completely plastic-free Clothing from undyed and unbleached material
– Photographs of the clothing with projections of stills from the videos

The three videos were the inspiration for the design and material of the clothing pieces. What was important to me: simple, versatile unique pieces – and a consistent choice of materials. Exclusively undyed and unbleached, linearly structured organic fabrics were used, sewn together with undyed organic cotton thread. The elastics were made by a small Austrian family business from ecru organic cotton and natural rubber.

After the completion of the clothing pieces, stills from the videos were projected onto them – which simultaneously highlighted the structure of the material and confronted the pieces with their original inspiration. In doing so, new spaces emerged.

The music by Christian Skoglund perfectly mirrors the different dynamics, textures and spaces of the videos – as well as those of the clothing pieces and photographs. In its richness of facets it repeatedly finds common motifs and structures, making the entire composition a unique work that is simultaneously heterogeneous and homogeneous.
