What is House of LAV?

House of LAV is the place where unique textile pieces meet artistic practice. It is the part of Atelier LAV that cannot be explained – only experienced.

More than Clothing

At Atelier LAV everything revolves around consciously created unique textile pieces – clothing, accessories, home objects. But sometimes that is not enough. Sometimes something comes into being that is more than a garment, more than an everyday object. Something that tells its own story, expresses a conviction, captures a moment.

That is precisely what House of LAV is for.

Special Editions and Collaborations

House of LAV brings together special projects: limited editions, artistic collaborations, works at the boundary between fashion, textile art and fine art.

Every project is its own universe. Each one emerges from a concrete idea, an occasion, an encounter – and carries that origin within it.

Among the projects that have emerged from House of LAV so far:

ARTILICHEN
Artichoke, lichen and lion's mane mushroom as artistic starting points – from oil painting to 3D object through to plastic-free unique textile pieces with screen printing in turmeric and indigo.

SKINAGANZA!
An exploration of the beauty, complexity and uniqueness of skin – through painting, fabric painting, accessories and clothing. In collaboration with Wolfgang Schwarz.

Let’s Spring
62 unique textile pieces as an interactive installation in an art space – in dialogue with three further positions from the alternative art scene.

Kitty Cats
A specially designed pattern – the abstraction of the memory of my cat Neo – screen printed onto organic cotton. Clothing, accessories and painted unique pieces.

Light/Lines
Three videos, specially composed music and plastic-free clothing from unbleached organic fabric united into one total work. In collaboration with Ambify Production / Christian Skoglund.

Art for Humans
Forest Skin Bathing / Shinrin Hada Yoku: an immersive installation from mesh kimono, paper leaves and SnapPap – inspired by the idea of forest bathing.

HHK
A purist exhibition: painting, mesh kimono and transparent organdy hand in dialogue. Every angle a different picture.

All is one

The guiding principle of House of LAV is simple and yet all-encompassing: All is one. It is a conviction. A reminder that art and craft, body and fabric, idea and material are not separate – but always belong together.

Who is House of LAV for?

For all those who seek more than a beautiful piece. Who are interested in the story behind the object. Who want to wear, gift or own art – without distance, without a white gallery space, close to life.

House of LAV pieces can – like all creations from Atelier LAV – be made anew on request. Some editions are strictly limited, others open to interpretation and further development.
