How is a custom Piece made?

Each piecethat I create is a unique piece – consciously crafted, with time, care and the finest sustainable materials. But how does it actually work when you commission a piece from me? Today I am taking you behind the scenes.

The first Step: getting in Touch

Everything begins with a message. You write to me – by email or via the contact form – and tell me what you have in mind. Perhaps you already have a clear picture: a specific colour, a material, a cut, an occasion. Perhaps you only know that you want something special, something that truly suits you – and you leave the rest to me.

Both are perfectly fine. The more you tell me, the better – but I am also very happy to help you define and shape your vision.

The Conversation

I respond personally to your enquiry within one to three working days. We talk about your wishes: what material should it be? What colour, what technique? Should the piece be dyed – perhaps with turmeric, indigo or red cabbage? Or rather printed, with screen printing?

I share my ideas with you, suggest materials and explain what is possible. Together we find what suits you best.

After this conversation you will receive a personal quote from me.

The Choice of Materials

This is my absolute passion. For every creation I choose the materials carefully – according to the criteria of quality and sustainability. This means: primarily European-produced or certified goods, ecological materials, organic fabrics, second hand clothing and sustainable accessories.

A particular focus for me lies on komplett plastikfreien Kreationen. This was a very challenging task, but one that proved absolutely worthwhile after extensive research and much communication with numerous producers.

I preferably use unbleached and undyed – that is, ecru-coloured – fabrics and sewing silk, or dye them with pure natural colours.

The Production

Once you confirm the quote, I begin work. Every piece is created entirely by hand – cutting, sewing, dyeing or printing, every detail. This takes time, and that is exactly as it should be.

Depending on the complexity of the piece, production takes approximately one to four weeks. I will keep you updated and get in touch when your piece is ready.

The Delivery

Your finished piece is carefully and of course plastic-freecpackaged – and then sent on its way to you. Standard delivery to Austria and shipping worldwide on request.

All pieces shown on this website…

…have already been sold or gifted. They showwhat is possible – as inspiration and an insight into my work. Every single one of them can be commissioned anew in a similar or entirely different form.

If something catches your eye – just get in touch. I look forward to it!
